Volunteers are preparing for WorldSkills Lyon 2024 

WorldSkills Lyon 2024 will have the opportunity to count on the support of nearly 1,500 Volunteers who will be working on around 50 missions, ranging from Competitors Experience to communications, Food & Beverage and language services. Within the Organizing Committee, the Volunteers Programme team has designed specific training modules to ensure that each Volunteer enjoys an enriching and serene experience. 

The WorldSkills Lyon 2024 Volunteer Gathering Day will take place on 24 August, bringing together almost 1,500 Volunteers who will be supporting us at the 47th WorldSkills Competition. This first meeting will be an opportunity for cohesion, before the Volunteers embark on an unforgettable experience at the heart of the organization of the Competition. During the day, the Volunteers will have the opportunity to learn more about the WorldSkills movement and its values, the Competition and its specificities, and the missions they will carry out during WorldSkills Lyon 2024. For Anaïs Lagarde, Manager of the Volunteers Programme, “The idea of the Gathering Day is to federate, motivate and create group cohesion, to ensure that the Volunteers feel part of the event and that they enjoy arriving on D-Day for their mission.” 

In order to prepare themselves in the best possible way, Volunteers also have access to specially-prepared, entertaining training modules designed to give them an in-depth insight into skills, the city of Lyon, the history of the WorldSkills movement and the Competition, and the scope of Volunteers’ missions, through our commitments to CSR, disability, inclusion and discrimination. A conversational agent is also available for those wishing to improve their level of English. Additionally, they will also have the opportunity to meet their mission managers ahead of the Competition, to arrive ready and confident on the first day of their mission.   

Volunteers play a key role in the organization of WorldSkills Lyon 2024. Thanks to the commitment and support of this enthusiastic and motivated community, WorldSkills Lyon 2024 promises to be an unforgettable experience.
