One School
One Country
The “One School One Country” (OSOC) programme is designed to encourage cultural exchanges between international Competitors and students from schools in the host city, highlighting the skills represented at the Competition. Each participating school is twinned with a member country or region, enabling students to discover new cultures, traditions and customs. At the same time, students can discover the skills of their Competitors.
OSOC PROGRAMME
During WorldSkills Lyon 2024, selected schools across the city learned more about the culture, traditions, and customs of the WorldSkills Member country or region that they adopted. In class, students also had the opportunity to learn about the skills and skilled careers represented at the Competition.
As part of this unique cultural exchange, Competitors visited the schools on the morning of the Opening Ceremony to participate in a series of activities with the students. Students were then given the opportunity to attend WorldSkills Lyon 2024 to see their Competitors in action.
Developed in 2007 by the Competition Organizers for WorldSkills Shizuoka 2007, the programme has since been a great way to connect local schools in the host city with Competitors from all over the world and to promote intercultural exchanges.
