Sustainability
Towards an improved and more responsible event model
WorldSkills Lyon 2024 placed sustainability at the heart of the Competition’s identity and culture ever since the 2019 bid to host the Competition in France, aiming to inspire future Competitions, the WorldSkills movement, and the Lyon region to adopt a sustainable and socially committed approach in all future events.
Ever since the early days of the preparation of the Competition, the WorldSkills Lyon 2024 Organizing Committee strived to achieve a set of specific sustainability objectives. The Sustainability Department established an action plan to work in coordination with 15 Sustainability collaborators in each department, ensuring the integration of sustainable practices across every aspect of the Competition. We also collaborated with external service providers who supported us in attaining our goals.
