The WorldSkills Lyon 2024 team attended EuroSkills Gdansk 2023

EuroSkills, the biggest vocational education and skills excellence event in Europe, took place from 5 September to 9 September in Gdańsk, Poland. Members of the WorldSkills Lyon 2024 team attended this milestone event, ahead of WorldSkills Lyon 2024.

Organized by WorldSkills Europe with 32 Member Countries, the EuroSkills event was first held in 2008 in Rotterdam, in The Netherlands. It has since been held every two years in different European cities, and this year for the first time in Gdańsk, Poland, for its eighth edition. The event brought together 600 talented young professionals under the age of 25 from various European countries, who competed for the opportunity to become the best in Europe in their respective skills. Competitions and demonstrations in 43 skills took place with tens of thousands of local and international visitors.

#Unitedbyskills WE CAN CHANGE THE WORLD.

Some members of the WorldSkills Lyon 2024 Competition Organizer attended the event to observe, get inspired, and meet some of their fellow WorldSkills Members.  They had the opportunity to meet the public, students, government, educators, and industry representatives who all attended the event with the same conviction that #Unitedbyskills, we can change the world*.

Franck Le Roux, General Director of WorldSkills Lyon 2024, met with Olivier Cadic, Senator representing French citizens living outside France and Alain Mompert, Honorary Consul of France in Pomerania, on the first day of visit. This was the opportunity to share the international roadmap for WorldSkills Lyon 2024 and discuss the opportunities for international cooperation offered by the WorldSkills Movement with David Hoey, CEO of WorldSkills International, and Laurence Gates, CEO of WorldSkills Europe and Board Member WorldSkills International.
