WorldSkills Lyon 2024 concludes

The 47th WorldSkills Competition came to a conclusion last night after a spectacular Closing Ceremony that took place at Lyon’s emblematic OL Stadium (Groupama Stadium), France’s 3rd largest stadium in terms of capacity. Medalists were announced for each skill, with Competitors stepping onto the podium to receive their awards in front of an enthusiastic and emotional crowd. The Ceremony was a fitting conclusion to an event that brought together exceptional young talents from around the world. 

The WorldSkills Lyon 2024 Closing Ceremony was a true spectacle, featuring live music, speeches, and a celebration of the medal winners and all the Competitors. The event also included dynamic dance and light shows, creating an engaging atmosphere with vibrant performances. WorldSkills China, the next host of the WorldSkills Competition in Shanghai, officially received the WorldSkills flag, offering the audience a glimpse of the city’s energy and a preview of what’s in store for WorldSkills Shanghai 2026. The evening continued with the Farewell Party, where Competitors and their teams gathered to celebrate the official end of the event.  

As the Competition wraps up, it is clear that WorldSkills Lyon 2024 has already left a lasting impact. The event not only showcased the remarkable skills and dedication of 1,400 young Competitors but also fostered a sense of global unity and excellence, a testament to WorldSkills’ commitment to advancing skills and empowering future professionals. 

The success of WorldSkills Lyon 2024 is a collective achievement, reflecting the hard work and enthusiasm of everyone involved—from the Volunteers and Organizing Committee to the Competitors and their supporters. As we look forward to WorldSkills Shanghai 2026, the legacy of this year’s event will undoubtedly inspire and drive future generations of skilled young professionals to reach new heights.
