Visitor Experience at WorldSkills Lyon 2024: Step into Excellence
With an anticipated 250,000 visitors from France and all over the world, the 47th WorldSkills Competition will create an immersive and informative visitor experience designed by the WorldSkills Lyon 2024 Organizing Committee for all, with a particular focus on engaging schools and youth groups. From an immersive tunnel to activities with skills experts, discover what awaits visitors at WorldSkills Lyon 2024.
Visitors will have the opportunity to be greeted by an immersive tunnel to guide them into the event while piquing their curiosity and encouraging reflection through a continuous narrative thread with immersive videos, timelines, and skill-related information. After passing through the tunnel, visitors will be guided to different distinct areas within Eurexpo Lyon, the Competition site.
At the Workshop Areas, the visitor experience will offer interactive activities to immerse visitors in the world of skills: among them, the display of detailed information for each skill through videos and explaining texts in order to make the understanding of skills accessible to everyone. In the digital skills workshop areas, visitors will be able to see a live feed of Competitors’ screens, allowing them to observe their craft in real-time. Skill moderators will also be available to provide additional information about the skills and answer visitors’ questions about the ongoing competitions.
A participatory fresco within a 144m2 area located in the heart of the Construction Sector will invite visitors to unleash their creativity by contributing to a large-scale painting that represents all the skills featured at WorldSkills Lyon 2024. This hands-on activity will provide a unique opportunity to try painting and decorating techniques, fostering a deeper knowledge of these skills. Photography enthusiasts will have the opportunity to see our two photo exhibitions: our Sports & Skills traveling exhibition which draws a parallel between the excellence of professional and sporting gestures, and our Volunteers exhibition, which spotlights the varied profiles of the WorldSkills Lyon 2024 Volunteers.
In addition to the different installation and activities proposed, visitors will be able to visit the Skills Agora, a dedicated area that will serve as a dynamic meeting point for visitors and skills experts. The Agora is designed to host speakers discussing skills-related topics, making it an ideal place for visitors interested in delving deeper into the skills and industries represented at the Competition.
WorldSkills Lyon 2024 promises a vibrant, educational, and interactive journey for visitors, providing a deeper appreciation of skills and fostering a new generation’s interest in vocational excellence. We can’t wait to see you there in two weeks!
