The 47th WorldSkills France Nationals concluded last week

Last week, WorldSkills France organized the 47th French National Finals at Eurexpo Lyon, the future Competition site for WorldSkills Lyon 2024. It was an opportunity for the WorldSkills Lyon 2024 team to participate in the event, and to meet and talk to future visitors and Competitors of WorldSkills Lyon 2024.  

Over three days, from 14 to 16 September 2023, more than 800 French Competitors from the entire country met at the Eurexpo Lyon Competition site to compete in 69 skills across 9 villages. They demonstrated their talents and skills during technical trials, combining precision, efficiency, and speed of execution. They competed under the eye of judges, Experts, and of enthusiastic visitors.  

A variety of skills sectors were represented during the event: flavors, arts, local services, construction, industry, communications and digital, automotive and machinery, plants, food and service industry, hospitality, and cleaning. Competitors demonstrated motivation, passion, and determination, showing their expertise and savoir-faire in the hope of earning a place on the WorldSkills France national team.  

During the event, the WorldSkills Lyon 2024 team had the opportunity to set up a stall and propose activities to meet and exchange with visitors, Competitors, and introduce the public to WorldSkills Lyon 2024. Curious visitors got the opportunity to learn more about the upcoming global Competition. Twelve International delegations were also invited to the event to observe and practice, with a few international Competitors participating in the competitions. This gave everyone a taste of what’s to come during WorldSkills Lyon 2024.  

After three intense days of competitions, medal winners were announced during the event’s Closing Ceremony. They will get the opportunity to represent France at the WorldSkills Competition in Lyon in September 2024.
