Road to WorldSkills Lyon 2024: Competitors are getting ready

Ariyaporn Limkamontipi and Phurinut Suntrapai are two Competitors from Thailand who are currently preparing for WorldSkills Lyon 2024. While Phurinut will show his skills in Industry 4.0, Ariyaporn will compete in Health and Social Care. As the Competition draws closer, the two Competitors are getting ready to give the best of themselves. The WorldSkills Lyon 2024 Organizing Committee asked them about their preparations and anticipation.  

What is your daily training routine for the preparation of WorldSkills Lyon 2024? 

Phurinut:  My daily training routine consists of studying and reviewing previous years project tasks, then trying to solve the tasks with the same condition as during the Competition. 

Ariyaporn:  I work as a nurse during weekdays, and I also practice specifically for the Competition during weekends. So, you can really say I take care of people 24/7!   

How do you deal with the stress and pressure ahead of the Competition? 

Phurinut: I usually go exercising or reading a book to relieve myself out of the stress and prepare myself mentally. 

Ariyaporn: I always do my best, so I’ll never regret anything. I remind myself of how far I have come, and I keep going forward.    

What motivated you to take part in WorldSkills Lyon 2024? 

Phurinut:  What motivated me is that it’s a great opportunity to improve my skills and to challenge myself on a global level. Additionally, I think that the experiences that I’m getting from the competitions will help with my career as an Engineer. 

Ariyaporn: I was motivated by the fact that I’m so proud to be a nurse, especially representing Thailand. It makes me excited to do it all the time.

How do you reconcile your preparation for the Competition with your other commitments? (Studies, work, personal life) 

Phurinut: By applying some of the preparation aspects into my other commitments, such as discipline, punctuality, precision and planning ahead of time. 

Ariyaporn:  I combine my preparation for the Competition with my work. It was quite hard to manage my schedule at first, but I decided to fully dedicate myself to it. And I also try to keep a healthy mental status.     

What impact do you think this Competition will have on your future life/career? 

Phurinut:  It will be a great opportunity to expand my knowledge and experience to pursue my career. 

Ariyaporn:  It will be a turning point for my career. It’s a great opportunity to show the world that Thai nurses are qualified!  

How are you preparing to meet Competitors from all over the world? 

Phurinut:  I’ve been practicing several languages to meet other people from around the world and to become friends with them. 

Ariyaporn:  I’m super excited to meet all Competitors from around the world who represent their country. I’ll be glad to meet them all.   

What are you most excited about at WorldSkills Lyon 2024? 

Phurinut:  What I’m most excited about at WorldSkills Lyon 2024 is the competition that I will be participating in, and the possibility to make a name for our country. 

Ariyaporn:  It’s the first and biggest Competition of my life, and I completely dedicate myself to it. So, I can’t wait to see how my efforts will turn out.
