International Women’s Day 2024: Shaping Gender Equality at WorldSkills

Over the years, the WorldSkills movement has worked towards making progress in terms of gender equality and inclusion, asserting that young women and young men must have equal opportunities in life and in their professional path. In a world where competitions often separate participants by gender, WorldSkills stands out as one where gender holds no bearing on one’s ability to excel in their chosen skill.  

The significance of WorldSkills extends far beyond the Competition itself. From being the first or only women to compete in their skill and paving the way for more gender equality to becoming pioneers in their skill and examples for many worldwide, many succesful women have emerged from WorldSkills.

The presence of women in WorldSkills events continues to grow, showcasing their talents, skills, and dedication on a global stage. Their success highlights the importance of equal opportunities and recognition for women in traditionally male-dominated fields, inspiring future generations to pursue their passions fearlessly. Through their perseverance and excellence, these women exemplify the limitless potential and power of gender inclusivity in skills development and innovation.
