Discover the Venues for the WorldSkills Lyon 2024 Ceremonies

The Ceremonies of WorldSkills Lyon 2024 will take place in some of the city’s most emblematic venues, showcasing Lyon’s vibrant modern facilities. While the Opening Ceremony will take place at the LDLC Arena, Lyon’s largest event venue, the Closing Ceremony will take place at the OL Stadium, a premier sports venue and official Stadium of the popular Olympique Lyonnais (OL) local soccer team. These two locations will provide a spectacular setting for celebrating the 47th WorldSkills Competition. Learn more about them below.  

The LDLC Arena 

The Opening Ceremony of WorldSkills Lyon 2024 will take place at the LDLC Arena, Lyon’s largest event venue. The LDLC Arena is a 14,500m² infrastructure located in the middle of OL Vallée, a complex of leisure with sports, cultural, artistic, and medical facilities. This benchmark in Europe in terms of technology and environment hosts between 100 and 120 national and international events each year (sports, concerts, shows…), making it a major event venue in the region. We will welcome Competitors and spectators inside and around the arena (in our dedicated Fan Zone) to officially celebrate the start of the Competition with an unforgettable Opening Ceremony. 

The OL Stadium  

The OL Stadium, France’s third largest stadium in terms of capacity, will host the Closing Ceremony of WorldSkills Lyon 2024. This popular location is the home of the Olympique Lyonnais (OL), a famous French professional soccer club. Besides hosting major soccer and sports events throughout the year, the OL Stadium also welcomes numerous national and international artists for concerts, including for instance Coldplay and Taylor Swift, who performed in June 2024. With its state-of-the-art facilities and vibrant atmosphere, the OL stadium has become a premier location for both sports enthusiasts and music lovers, showcasing a dynamic blend of cultural and athletic excellence.
