One School
One Country
The “One School One Country” (OSOC) program is designed to encourage cultural exchanges between international Competitors and students from schools in the host city, highlighting the trades represented at the Competition. Each participating school is twinned with a member country or region, enabling students to discover new cultures, traditions and customs. At the same time, students can discover the trades of their competitors.
OSOC PROGRAMME
During WorldSkills Lyon 2024, selected schools across the city will learn more about the culture, traditions, and customs of the WorldSkills Member country or region that they will adopt. In class, students will also have the opportunity to learn about the skills and skilled careers represented at the Competition.
As part of this unique cultural exchange, Competitors will visit the schools on the morning of the Opening Ceremony to participate in a series of activities with the students. Students will then be given the opportunity to attend WorldSkills Lyon 2024 to see their Competitors in action.
Developed in 2007 by the Competition Organizers for WorldSkills Shizuoka 2007, the programme has since been a great way to connect local schools in the host city with Competitors from all over the world and to promote intercultural exchanges.
OSOC at WorldSkills 2024 is:
- 65 schools across Lyon
- 1,500 Competitors visiting local schools
- A unique meeting between local students and international Competitors
