The country also has 26 elements on the Intangible Heritage list, such as the distinguished Gastronomic meal of the French, an established social practice where French people celebrate moments around a festive meal.
France counts 49 sites on UNESCO World Heritage List.

The country values history and culture, and has a network of around 1,220 museums, with 61 museums dedicated to holding, preserving, and promoting national collections of art, culture, science, and technology.
